Nepal may be in for fresh problems as it drafts its new Constitution. The general council meeting of the World Hindu Federation WHF, which concluded at Devipattan temple in Tulsipur of the eastern UP8217;s Balrampur district on Sunday, decided to launch an agitation against Nepalese Maoists to protect the interest of the king.

The organisation is exploring the possibility of accommodating the Madhesis in its fold to stop the Maoists from removing the king8217;s position in Nepal8217;s new Constitution, which will be drafted soon.

The Madhesis, both Hindus and Muslims, treat Maoists as their biggest enemy in the border areas.

The pro-Hindu organisations may create rift between the two Madhesis8217; components by highlighting the sharp growth in the number of Islamic religious structures on both sides of the borders.

BJP leader Chinmayanand and VHP leader Ashok Singhal participated in the Tulsipur meeting which elected 72-year-old Hem Bahadur Karki as its new international president. Singhal and Chinmayanand assured the WHF8217;s Nepal chapter of their support for the cause of Nepal as a 8220;Hindu Rashtra8221;.

The meeting was organised by WHF8217;s Indian chapter and BJP MP Yogi Adityanath. The Nepal King has traditional relations with the Gorakhnath Peeth with which Yogi Adityanath is associated.
