HC notice on Wakf property

AHMEDABAD, Sept 7: The Gujarat High Court has issued notices to Kaira district Superintendent of Police and other officials on a petition, which alleged denial of fundamental rights to minorities.

Allaudin Sheikh of Udela village in Kaira district filed a petition yesterday before the High Court submitting that despite a court order declaring the burial ground in his village, whose ownership was being disputed, as WAKF property, police was restricting the movements of the minority community there.

Justice A L Dave has asked the respondents to show cause why the petition should not be admitted.
