Matthew Hayden may have to sit out the Perth Test, starting at the WACA ground January 16, owing to a sore hamstring, according to The Age. Hayden was unable to field on the fifth day at the SCG and team physiotherapist Alex Kountouris yesterday said he was not a 8220;sure thing8221; for Perth, reports the paper. 8220;He8217;s in some doubt because he strained it during the game,8221; Kountouris said. 8220;He could be OK in a few days or it could be a few weeks.8221;

If Hayden fails to prove his fitness, West Australian Chris Rogers could make his debut, making for an inexperienced opening partnership with Phil Jaques.
