Tax breaks and other incentives are on the anvil for the renewable energy RE sector in India, according to V Subramanian, secretary, ministry of new and renewable energy, who urged the industry to take full advantage of these sops.

Speaking at a 8216;Cleantech Solutions for Sustainable Development: Meeting the Challenges and Opportunities8217; meet organised by the CII, he said the RE sector depended on regulatory clearances for investment and stressed on the need for a shift in government thinking.
