New Delhi, December 16: The government is considering setting up an agency to coordinate the working of personnel of different ministries at the international airports of the country, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Chaman Lal Gupta said today.

The idea of setting up a co-ordinating agency was mooted after the death of a seven-year-old girl in an escalator accident at the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi on Tuesday.

Stating that the report of inquiry into the incident was submitted by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) on Wednesday night and was being studied by the ministry, Gupta said "there are so many employees working at the airport under different departments and it seems that nobody is responsible to none."

"We will hold discussions with the Ministries of Home Affairs, Finance and other departments and set up this agency as soon as possible," the Minister said.

Gupta said the ministry had "no objection" in appointing a judicial probe into the incident keeping in mind the sentiments of the people and demand raised by the opposition in parliament. "We will study the AAI report and take a view on the matter", he said.

Gupta said he and civil Aviation Minister sharad yadav will visit all international airports in the country after the on-going session of parliament to "minutely study" all facilities and the loopholes to take "all kinds of precautions."

Three officials at the IGI airport were suspended after a preliminary probe into the escalator accident.
