
Panaji, oct 24: Goa Chief minister Franciscosardinha has decided to submit the resignation of his 11-month old ministry ahead of the trust vote at a special session of the state legislative Assembly today.
Announcing this at a hurriedly called press conference athis official residence, sardinha admitted that his government was reduced to a "minority’.
"Till yesterday, I was insisting that the governmentenjoyed majority," he said.
But with his four colleagues breaking away from the goanpeoples Congress party (gpcp) and pledging support to another party (BJP), which has staked claim to form an alternative government, he said he has decided to resign.
