PUNE, April 11: Avinash Ghatpande of Youngsters Cricket Club along with two others 8212; Sanjay Date of Income Tax Sports Club and Sunil Gudge representing State Bank of India 8212; have been unanimously elected Maharashtra Cricket Association8217;s MCA managing committee members for a three-year term 1999 to 2001.
In the biennial elections held late last evening at the MCA office, Nehru Stadium, Avinash Ghatpande bagged 23 votes out of a possible 29 while Sanjay Date and Sunil Gudge received 20 and 11 respectively. The other three in the fray 8212; Hemant Kanitkar Metro Club, Prabhakar More United Sports Club and Milind Gunjal Telco 8212; received 10, 9 and 6 votes respectively. Only 30 club representatives turned out to cast ballots out of which one vote was declared invalid.
