SRINAGAR, MARCH 25: Militants killed four people and security forces captured three militants and seized arms and ammunition in the Kashmir valley in the last 24 hours.

An official spokesman said an explosion took place at Purana Bazar in Tral last evening, damaging four houses and three shops. However, no one was hurt. He said militants hurled a hand grenade at a police camp at Sumbal in Baramulla last evening. The grenade did not explode and was later defused by experts.

The spokesman said militants kidnapped and subsequently killed one Mohammad Yousuf Yatoo at Dialgam, while the beheaded body of one Ahsan Malla was recovered from Hapatnar in Baramulla last evening.

He said militants shot at and wounded one Tanveer Ahmad Mir near Degree College, Kishtwar last evening. Mir later succumbed to his wounds in the hospital.

The body of Mehraj-Ud-Din alias Bita was also recovered last evening. The spokesman said forces and Jammu and Kashmir police arrested three militants and seized one AK rifle, onepistol, two wireless sets, half a kg explosive, two grenades, one remote control and more than 250 rounds of ammunition in overnight operations from across the valley.
