Designer duo Dev and Nil had a lot to smile about on the fourth anniversary of their label Dev R Nil earlier this week. The boys from Bengal celebrated in style 8212; with a cocktail party and a poolside brunch at The Park, Kolkata.
Even as the crowd milled about in the duo8217;s designs, Nil looked back with delight: 8220;In the past four years, our work has been well received and our clientele has grown. Most importantly, so have we.8221;
He8217;d streaked his hair a wild blonde, while partner Dev kept his mop jet black8212; the hairdos symbolising the former8217;s bohemian outlook and the latter8217;s more serious tones.
The contrast shows even in the clothes. They8217;re known for their breezy, summery clothes with razor sharp cuts, and their recent outings in the fabric of the year, lurex. In Delhi, you can pick up their garments from Aza.
Dev and Nil say they will maintain their out-of-the-box look for their fifth year together. 8220;We8217;d like to branch out into some different fabrics this time round, though the emphasis will still be on the colour and cut. In 2009, we also want to build the brand and take it to more places in India and abroad,8221; said Dev. Clearly, there8217;ll be a bigger party next year.
