Still not able to figure out what SWIM means in the Short Messaging Service SMS message your friend sent you? Or even SETE in response to a joke you sent, VEG, or even JMO 8230; ? Sure you could always pick up a copy of the Penguin brought-out 8216;SMS with Essar: The new language8217;, but it is quite a pain reading a book to decipher your mail isn8217;t it? By the way, SWIM means See What I Mean, SETE stands for Smiling Ear to Ear, VEG is Very Evil Grin, and JMO is Just My Opinion.
Well, there8217;s hope for all you not well versed in SMS-speak, or those whose fingers have gone numb laboriously typing in the 160 characters of SMS text that most cellfones allow you. It8217;s Voice Messaging Service. By the way, this is not to be confused with the voice messages you leave when people divert their cellfones onto the answering service. So now instead of typing in shrt 8216;n8217; swt SMS on your cellphone you could just pick up the phone, dial a number given by your local cellphone operator 8212; Essar or Airtel in Delhi 8212; and record that personal message for the important people you wish to reach out to.
And the price tag would be special too. What with an SMS costing anything between Rs oe to Rs 1.50 for a message containing 160 characters, the voice message will cost you Rs three for a 30 second message.
Speaking to The Indian Express, CEO of Hutchison Essar, Sudershan Bannerjee said that the company was planning to unveil an exciting package in Delhi tomorrow. He however refrained from letting out any details of the new service tyo be launched by his brand.
