
NAWADA BIHAR, JUNE 4: At least five persons belonging to Yadava community were killed by unidentified assailants at Rajiv Bigha village in Bihar8217;s Nawada district late Saturday night, the police said today.
Zonal Inspector General of Police Patna Range Neelmani said that heavily-armed marauders swooped on the village under Pakribarwan police station and butchered five villagers with sharp-edged weapons.
Those killed were identified as Amrit Yadav 45, KamoYadav 35, Sudho Yadav 22, Sikha Devi 45, and Pintoo Kuma 12, he said here.
One Kharehi Yadav 15 who suffered cut injuries in the attack was admitted to the government hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.
The police suspect a notorious criminal gang, which was responsible for abduction of three persons from a nearby village under Warsaliganj police station and who are still missing, behind the killings.
Director General of Police K A Jacob, Neelmani and othersenior officials rushed to the spot.
A combing operation has been launched to nab the killers.
