Two teenagers, both residents of Mauli Jagran colony, sustained injuries when they received gunshots during a clash on Friday. While Parmatma (17) received a bullet on his left hand, Vishal Kumar (18) was hit on his leg. The two are undergoing treatment at the General Hospital, Sector 6, where their condition is stated to be stable.The victims said youths from Indira and Rajiv colonies in Sectors 16 and 17 of Panchkula, respectively, had been coming to Mauli Jagran for the past few days and harassing the residents, leading to clashes between the colony boys and the outsiders. They termed it as “ego clashes”. “It was around 1 pm and Vishal and I were standing near the Mauli Jagran temple. Suddenly, 20-odd youths led by one Ram Jawari, a resident of Indira Colony, came in autorickshaws. The moment we saw them, we tried to run away but Ram Jawari took out a country-made pistol and fired at us,” said Parmatma. He named a few of the “attackers” as Chotu, Sanki and Rajiv. Parmatma works in the grain market, while Vishal is a vendor. Talking to Newsline, Mauli Jagran Station House Officer Inspector Hari Kumar said: “The two injured are out of danger now. A case has been registered against the youths.” No arrest was made till the filing of this report.
