FIR in flood scam in a day or two: Subramanian

The state vigilance bureau, probing the multi-crore flood relief scam, has almost finished its preliminary inquiry and an FIR will be lodged against the culprits in a day or two, Bihar Chief Secretary K.A.H. Subramanian said today.

‘‘The preliminary inquiry in the scam is almost over and an FIR will be lodged against culprits in a day or two,’’ Subramanian said here, in the presence of Governor Buta Singh. Time magazine awardee and former Patna DM Goutam Goswami is an accused in the scam.

Asked if a probe would be ordered into the alleged bungling in construction of dwelling units for the flood victims under the Indira Awas Yojna, Subramanian said, ‘‘This did not form part of the vigilance probe. But divisional commissioners have been instructed to inquire into ommission and commission in the construction of dwelling units under Indira Awas Yojna.’’
