Fifty Six structures removed

CHANDIGARH, Nov 20: The enforcement staff of the Municipal Corporation of Chandigarh removed 56 unauthorized structures from the road berms in Sector 39-D here today.

Unlike yesterday when the protesting residents forced the stalling of the drive midway, the three-hour operation was carried out peacefully today.

The operation was a part of MC8217;s road-remetalling programme. The MC team was accompanied by several police personnel. The structures were removed manually as the JCB didn8217;t work.
