World number one Roger Federer demolished James Blake in straight sets to claim his third Masters Cup title tomorrow, reinforcing his reputation as the sport8217;s dominant figure.

Federer blasted the bottom seed to love in the first set and rarely looked troubled, winning 6-0, 6-3, 6-4 in one hour and 37 minutes. The victory brought an emphatic end to what Federer describes as his best year yet, winning three out of four Grand Slam finals and another eight events in the regular season. Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi downed Mark Knowles and Daniel Nestor in straight sets to win their first Masters Cup doubles title.

The Swedish and Belarussian pair broke twice in the first set and once in the second to win 6-2, 6-4 in one hour and 17 minutes, maintaining their unbeaten record in this year8217;s competition.
