MUMBAI, AUG 21: Fatima, Vidyavihar, and Gokuldham, Goregaon, qualified to meet each other in the under-14 Division III final of the MSSA-Colgate Inter-School football tournament. In the semi-finals, Fatima beat St Xavier’s, Vile Parle, 4-3 via the tie-breaker and Gokuldham defeated Holy Family, Chembur, 3-2 at the MSSA-Castrol ground, Azad Maidan, today.

Under-14 Division III (semis): Fatima 4 (Anmol Kadam 2, Aditya Perera, Hitesh Kanande) bt St Xavier’s 3 (Warren D’Souza 2, Ashley D’Souza) via the tie-breaker; Gokhuldham 3 (Aayaj Shaikh, Rohit Jhunjhunwala, Maru Kaushik) bt Holy Family 2 (Elvin D’Souza, Nimesh Sawant).

U-14 Knock-out: Don Bosco, Borivli 2 (Kurup Pratik, Dexter D’Mello) bt Holy Family, Andheri 1 (Mathias Coutinho); Bombay International 3 (Gaurav Khandelwal, Rohit Dhote, Amritpal Bindra) bt St Joseph’s, Vikhroli, 1 (Mackwin Alphonso) via the tie-breaker.

U-16 K.O.: St Mary’s, Dahisar, failed to turn up against St Joseph’s, Vikhroli.

U-16 4-C: Hindi Vidya Bhavan drewgoalless with Bhavan’s Wadia.

Goutam extended

Vivek Goutam prevailed 10-15, 15-3, 15-8 over Vikrant Patwardhan in the men’s singles semi-finals of the first State Senior badminton tournament at the National Sports Club of India (NSCI).
