
Sunil Pawar, who had been arrested for sending a fake letter in the name of chief minister to the police commissioner on November 6, has now also been booked under the wildlife protection act after a deerskin was found when the police raided his house.
Pawar had earlier sent a forged letter to the commissioner of police accusing one Tukaram Kamble and Matkya Kamble of having alleged links with the slain gangster Robert Salve. When the police raided his house they found letterheads of the chief minister, the deputy chief mister, various other ministers, and MLA’s. They also found stamps, files and seals belonging to various state and central government offices.
The police have booked him under the wildlife protection act of 1992 section 51. He has also been booked under section 420 of the IPC for having cheated one Chandrakant Kate promising him to get a permanent job for his son at Pune Municipal Corporation. He got Rs 53,000 from him and returned only Rs 10,000.
The police have said that further investigations are on.
