  • Age?
  • Twenty-nine but Nasir looks more like a 19-year-old.

  • Married?
  • Not quite But he is definitely engaged to be married.

  • Tell us about your intended one?
  • quot;Don8217;t ask me when the wedding date is set for.quot; He is even more cagey about his fiancee. quot;Some things are better left alone and should not be talked about.quot;

  • But he is not so reserved when it comes to talking about his work. Did the son of Johnny Walker always want to be an actor and follow in his father8217;s footsteps?
  • Yes. quot;I always wanted to be in this line. As a kid I would sing all of Shammi Kapoor8217;s songs.quot;

  • Yahoo! But he seems to be more interested in being a funny guy like his dad 8212; and not a hero like the Junglee heartthrob.
  • That8217;s because he insists he is born with a talent that cannot be laughed off. quot;Many people try and be funny but you cannot try and be funny. I am funny. It does not go away even if I want it to.quot;

  • But for a funny man, he is awfully serious 8212; jokesapart?
  • quot;In life, I am serious. That8217;s how I maintain my sanity. Your professional and personal life should never become one.quot;

  • Where did he acquire such sage counsel?
  • From struggle. Unlike most star sons 8212; who find it easy to become a household name overnight 8212; Nasir has had to knock on several doors before one opened. Because he was determined to go it alone. quot;I have never used my dad8217;s name. I never take his name. I believe that my work will speak for itself.quot;

  • So who opened that first door for Nasir?
  • Prahlad Kakkar. The maverick ad film-maker used Nasir for some very prestigious campaigns like Close-up. That8217;s how he was first noticed. Then Nasir got a show on Channel V, called Toofan TV.Finally, he made sure he got heard as well. Nasir dubbed the Hindi version of Braveheart, and on Doordarshan he was Aladdin8217;s voice.

  • But of late Nasir is rocking the small screen with his modelling and music videos.
  • He is Raageshwari8217;s boyfriend in her new videoPyaar ke rang8217; and can be spotted in the Whirlpool ad, dancing up a storm. quot;It was fun but I am not a model I am more of an item. All the ad films I have done have been like scenes, situations. I have not done any typical model type ad films where the girls go ga-ga over a good looking man.quot;

  • Does that mean he is not good looking?quot;
  • No, I did not say that. It is not up to me to say.quot;

  • What he is willing to talk about is his work.
  • quot;On TV, I am in two very successful serials 8212; Woh and Aashiward. My ads have been directed by some of the best in the industry. I have done a dozen ads with Prahlad Kakkar, worked with Ketan Mehta, Rajeev Menon and Ramesh Sippy. My work has been appreciated. Whatever I have done has been liked and that8217;s what matters.quot;

  • And when he is not shooting, what does he do?quot;I spend most of my money on CDs. I love music.quot;
  • Oh Lord! Is he now going to say that he too wants to cut an album?
  • quot;No. I am an actor, not a singer.quot;Phew!

  • What about becoming an author 8212; Nasir is known to be a keen writer?
  • quot;I have not given it any thought. Even though others have suggested I should do so.quot;

  • But here8217;s a word of caution: Shouldn8217;t he explore other avenues? What if his acting ambitions are not fulfilled?
  • quot;I cannot even think like that. If I think things will not work out, then I will lose my confidence.quot; Nasir firmly believes he will be a hit and he is willing to really slog it out to be a success.

  • And what is this model-actor most likely to say?
  • quot;Anything that8217;s funny. Comedy comes easily to me.quot;

  • And least likely to say?
  • quot;Anything about a person. I do not like to pass a judgement.quot;
