Thanks to smileys or emoticons that not only pep up your chat content but also help you convey your emotions in the right way.

Be it a happy message or a sad, angry or wicked, you have one expression for each mood. And they are highly effective, as the cute little small face without fail brings out the perfect emotions and also draws a perfect reactio too.

You just need to understand the mood and every expression has been given a shape in the long list of smileys or emoticons 8212; happy , sad, mad and innocent smileys, apart from the very dynamic sticking the toungue out, winking and jumping smiley and many more.

8220;Apart from the cute expressions, I like the colour of the smiley. Yellow represents happy mood it triggers quick response and I feel that my message reaches in a better way8221;, says Megha, who frequently uses smileys in yahoo messenger. Smileys have a lot of tech-loving youths pouring their hearts out by just a click of the mouse or punching a few buttons on their mobile.

Deepti Dubey, another chat enthusiast, shares, 8220;Well, I use smileys because I feel they are the best means of reflecting our emotions. Images say more than words. Smileys serve to be expressive enough to convey our message effectively.8221;

Nikita Jain, another old user of smileys beams , 8220;I can8217;t have a better medium for instant messaging. My expressions reach better through smileys. I just love them and can8217;t think of my cellphone8217;s outbox without them.8221;

Nikhil Kulkarni, a 22-year-old graduating at NIFT, Kolkata has a different opinion. He says, 8220;I really hate this symbolic language. I really get irritated when I get a message with some silly symbols like the one in which the fellow8217;s tongue is out and the other one with one eye closed.8221; He further adds, 8220;I strongly believe in the power of words. What I feel is that messages can reach in the manner we want only if they are written in words- and I say a big no to smileys.8221;

Whatever people say, its true that these smileys have become a part of today8217;s world. Some funny and trendy ones just can8217;t be ignored. Thanks to the lovely symbols giving one a reason to smile.
