MUMBAI, FEBRUARY 18: The Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate has issued process against former chief editor of Dalal Street Journal, V B Padode who was accused of cheating a businessman.

The 47th court recently ordered the issue process against Padode under section 406 and 420 of Indian penal CodeIPC following a complainant by Amarjeet Vidyarthi, managing director of Indus Cruising amp; Shipping Pvt Ltd.

In his complaint, Vidyarthi had stated that he had paid Rs 41 lakh as advance towards buying of a 2600 sq ft office premises owned by Padode at D N Road, Fort in South Mumbai early last year. The purchase agreement mentioned the worth of property as Rs 1.6 crore, he added.

However, Vidyarthi claimed that despite their agreement Padode had put out the premises for sale through an advertisement. He also found out that the Bombay High Court had ordered attachment of the premises following a case filed by MTNL, while it was already mortgaged to IDBI.

Despite repeated attempts to contact, Padodewas not available for his comment.
