DABHOL MAHARASHTRA, MAY 24: Union Power Minister Kumaramangalam will dedicate the 740 MW Enron power project to the nation here tomorrow. The multi-crore project that will largely rid the State and the MSEB of power problems will be commissioned tomorrow at a special function.

For the first time a private company which has invested already over US three billion will also be providing infrastructural facilities like a jetty, LNG terminal, schools and hospitals.

For the next 20 years, Maharashtra will have no power problem. The first phase of the Enron project that begins generation of 740 MW tomorrow will be followed by the commissioning of the 250 MW Koyna hydro power project that would address the present power deficit of 1300 MW in the State. The second phase of Enron will have an installed capacity of 2,450 MW.
