
VIJAYAWADA, Dec 12: Two scintillating tons by opener Janette Brittin (138) and one down batswoman Barbara Daniels (142 n.o.) and their record-breaking stand of 203 for the second wicket helped defending champions England crush Pakistan by 230 runs in the sixth women’s Hero Honda World Cup Group A league match at the Indira Gandhi stadium here today.
The match kept the statisticians busy as England, put in to bat by Pakistan, went on to post a record score of 376 for two.
England’s total surpassed the previous highest total of 297 for 3 (off 60 overs) by New Zealand against the Netherlands in the women’s World Cup held in 1988.
