Mark Vermeulen scored an unbeaten half-century to steer Zimbabwe to victory in the second one-day international against West Indies on Sunday.
Vermeulen was 66 not out as Zimbabwe won by six wickets with 20.2 overs to spare and levelled the five-match series at 1-1. Andy Blignaut was Zimbabwe8217;s inspiration as West Indies were bowled out for just 125. Blignaut took the key wickets of Chris Gayle and Brian Lara cheaply, and ran out Ramnaresh Sarwan.
But Blignaut blotted his copybook when he dropped Marlon Samuels on 22 at mid-on, the batsman going on to make the tourists8217; top score of 36 not out. The innings marked a dramatic reversal of fortune from the first one-day international, in which West Indies scored 347-6.
