January 8: Seeded players had a field day on Thursday in the open events of the 59th Sub-Junior National Table Tennis Championships at the Patel Maidan Indoor Stadium here today. Almost 400 matches were gone through in four categories (sub-junior boys, sub-junior girls, cadet boys and cadet girls).

In the sub-junior boys section, top seed Ranbeer Das, second seed Shubham Chaudhary, both of Bengal, and third seed V Chandrachud of PSCB Academy beat their respective opponents to reach the third round.
