Anubhav Sinha does not lie. Whatever anyone wants to say about it, he considers it his biggest shortcoming. Say hello to the music video mughal, the king of all music video directors8230; quot;Stop already! Don8217;t do this to me,quot; he laughs. You8217;re wondering why the man who has made the hottest music videos going does not want all the accolades he received for them. Ab mujhe raat din, Tu, O meri munni and bhangra, bhangra and more bhangra with bhangra pop king, Daler Mehndi, who he met up with last week. All big time hits, and all he8217;s not happy with. quot;None of them were even good,quot; he says, disdainful of his own work. Never mind that in the short span of a year, he8217;s become hot property in the business of making music videos. quot;Yes. But I can see the technical defects and little things that mar them all. Thing is, everytime I8217;ve done something which I haven8217;t liked, it has done well,quot; he says.

And vice versa? Unfortunately true, he admits ruefully. quot;My very first venture as director was a serial called Shikast in 1994, after I8217;d spent three years assisting Pankaj Parashar. It appeared on InMumbai, and no-one watched it, it didn8217;t get noticed, didn8217;t climb any TRP ratings, nothing. But every single person who worked in that serial is a force in the industry,quot; he says.

quot;I wouldn8217;t really say that,quot; he says. quot;There were some people I met who were not quite like that. Jackie Shroff, for instance, is one guy with a heart of gold. I respect and admire him, and would like him to work in my first film,quot; says Anubhav passionately. he is already on his first project, which begins sometime later in the year.

With an all-new star cast, and his own script, Anubhav puts a lot of faith in the project. What is Jackie doing in the film? quot;I don8217;t know,quot; he says. quot;He hasn8217;t yet agreed to be in it yet.quot;
