Dharmendra146;s marital status to be poll issue: Cong

The Rajasthan Congress today said that Bollywood star and BJP candidate from Bikaner Dharmendra8217;s marital status would be a poll issue as he has not mentioned his wife8217;s name in the affidavit filed yesterday.

State Congress election committee chairman Nawal Kishore Sharma told reporters here that not filing the 8216;8216;correct8217;8217; affidavit and 8216;8216;avoiding8217;8217; wife8217;s name were 8216;8216;gross violation8217;8217; of the EC guidelines. The Congress would complain to the EC on the issue and seek clarification on Dharmendra8217;s marital status, he said.

Asked whether the Congress would demand rejection of Dharmendra8217;s nomination, Sharma said: 8216;8216;It is upto the returning officer to decide. But our demand will be to disclose his wife8217;s name in the affidavit.8217;8217;
