Delhi High Court seeks record on NDA recruitment since 1995

The record was sought after counsel for some of the candidates contended that the number of candidates sent to NDA for the past six years had never been less than 300.

A single judge Bench had allowed a petition by some of the candidates of 101st batch, who allegedly were left over even after selection because 141 candidates of 100th batch were accommodated for the training which started in January.

The court had during last hearing asked for the record to show how 141 candidates of a previous batch were accommodated along with 232 forthe 101st course of NDA.

Government counsel Jyoti Singh told the court that 141 candidates of 100th batch were sent for training for training to the 101st course of NDA as one time measure at the orders of the ministry because some policy changes were made during the intervening period.

But this could not be made a precedent for all times to come and it would create more problem, she said.

The court took strong objection to this saying that the problem had rather been created by the ministry.
