
DDA engineers turned down Delhi Govt8217;s special projects
Delhi Development Authority DDA engineers have decided not to work on the special projects of the Delhi government unless all their demands which include cadre review are met. The engineers8217; association in a statement said that before the forthcoming Assembly elections, the government had given the DDA a list of 156 8220;urgent projects8221; to be completed before the November 25 polls.
AIIMS8217; plea for donations
Nand Kishore Mishra 35, a resident of village Chakvedaria, district Samastipur in Bihar is suffering from severe aplastic anaemia. He is presently undergoing treatment at AIIMS and the cost of his treatment comes to around Rs 15,000 per month. The treatment is likely to continue for another year. Unable to afford the treatment, his wife Meera Mishra has appealed for donation and assistance. Delhi-Lahore DTC route tax waived
Haryana has decided to scrap passenger tax on the Lahore-Delhi-Lahore route. The new bus service, which will be run thrice a week by Delhi Transport Corporation DTC is expected to begin soon. The decision a goodwill gesture of the state government 8212; was taken at a meeting of the state cabinet here a couple of days ago.
IIT employees8217; dharna from Nov 16
Around 10,000 employees of the Indian Institute of Technology IIT Employees Union have decided to sit on dharna from November 16 onwards. The employees had been agitating since November 2 urging the directors of all the IITs to resolve issues regarding the retirement age of staff members, disparity of pay scales, continuation of promotion and assessment and anomalies arising out of the Fifth Pay Commission.
