Free heart checkup
A free heart checkup camp will be held at Adarsh Basic Primary School, near Indira Market, Sector 27, Noida on October 24, by a voluntary organisation Yogdan. A team of specialists from the Heartcare Foundation of India would conduct free heart checkup, ECG, blood sugar tests and other tests from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Patients are advised to register themselves at 91-523626, 91-534333 or F-101, Sector 27, Noida.

More train frequency
The frequency of 8603/ 8604 and 8605/ 8606 Delhi-Hatia Jharkhand Swarna Jayanti Express will be increased from December 28. Henceforth, the 8604 train will leave Delhi every Tuesday and Friday and the 8603 will leave from Hatia every Monday and Thursday. Similarly, the 8606 will start from Delhi every Monday and Thursday and 8605 will leave Hatia every Wednesday and Sunday.

Karamchari strike
The University and College Karamchari Union (UCKU) will observe a token strike on October 22 in protest against the non-fulfilment of their demands. The union will also hold a dharna outside the VC’s office on October 26.

Sena Medal to ITBP man
The first Sena Medal’ for any personnel of the Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was awarded to Inspector Raj Kumar posthumously by the President of India. An inspector of the 19 Battalion of the force, Raj Kumar has been awarded for gallantary of an exceptional order in May lastyear in Anantnag.
