Drive against tinted glasses criticised
First they were protesting against the defection of sitting MPs and MLAs. While that still stands, members of the Krantikari Manuvadi Morcha are now righteously indignant about the police drive against tinted glasses. Calling the drive8220;ridiculous8221;, Morcha president R.K. Bhardwaj said anti-social elements could continue their nefarious activities by putting curtains instead of solar film. 8220;The police should realise that every car owner can8217;t afford an AC and tinted glasses provide some relief from scorching heat.8221;

Sadar house owners8217; stir
Members of the Sadar Zila Sangharsh Samiti of House Owners8217; have decided that they will not give their houses out on rent following the 8220;wrong policy being chalked out in the Rent Control Act by the Bharatiya Janata Party8221;. Samiti president Hari Mohan Gupta said if the present government continues like this then there will be a scarcity of residential quarters in the city.

Health seminar organised
A two-day symposium and health seminar on Children Living In The World of AIDS8217; was held at the DAV Public School, Dayanand Vihar, recently. It was organised in collaboration with the Directorate of Education, Government of NCT, Delhi. Joint Secretary of Youth and Sports Affairs P.K. Sinha gave away the prizes. Sewing machines were distributed to 50 adult learners in collaboration with the Rotary Club and Lions8217; Club.

Vidyut Board bijli adalats
More than 700 complaints of 985 have been sorted out in the district bijli adalats of the Delhi Vidyut Board. The complaints relate to excess billing, non-receipt of bills, replacements of defective meters and delay in releasing electricity connections. The next adalat will be held on June 6.

Stamp on Zakir Hussain
Vice-president Krishan Kant released a special commemorative stamp on former President Dr Zakir Hussain on the occasion of his death anniversary on Sunday.
