DD to telecast documentary on Malta boat tragedy

SEPT 15: The Malta boat tragedy, which claimed the lives of more than 100 illegal migrants to Europe four years ago, would be featured in a documentray to be telecast by Doordarshan8217;s news channel on September 17.

This was stated here today by Malta Boat Tragedy Probe Mission chairman Balwant Singh Khera. He said a German television channel had telecast a documentray on this tragedy about two years ago.

The report on this heinous crime, in which the illegal Indian migrants were thrown into the Mediterranean Sea, after being shot dead near Malta, would be telecast at 2000 hrs on September 17 on the DD News channel and on September 21 at 0830 hrs on DD-Metro channel, Khera said.

e said Tana De Sulita, Member of Parliament of Italy, had done a commendable job in exposing the tragic incident following which the Italian government registered cases against 13 culprits involved in the crime and issued arrest warrants against them.
