NEW DELHI, September 30: Holders DAV School, Chandigarh, started their campaign with a big 8-1 victory over Modern School, Barakhamba Road, in pool A8217; Super League match of the 13th Limca Soccer Tournament. Harish was the hero of the win, scoring five goals for the winners. Manoj scored a brace while Ashish was the other goal getter for the winners.
Mount St. Mary8217;s thrashed Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Jaipur, 9-1 to register the biggest win of this year. The highlight of the match was a hat-trick by Shikhil Suri. Ballas Bastin 4, Grish Ojha 2 were the other marksman for the winners.
Army Public School, Delhi, put up a good fight before going down 2-4 to st Alloysis School, Jabalpur in the Pool C8217; match. Ravindran and Amit scored a brace each for the winners while the Rahul Rana and Dushyant netted a goal each.
St Joseph School, Tamil Nadu, who are runners up in 1995, collected full points from their pool D8217; match against Frank Anthony Public School, winning the tie 3-0. S Guga Hasan 2 and T Suman Babu were the goal scorers. Tamil Nadu boys could have won by the bigger margin but failed to do so due to poor marksmanship.
