Dance/music course for NRIs planned

MACHILIPATNAM, August 8: The Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University is planning to start a distance education course to train NRIs in Kuchipudi, violin and other dance and music forms. Targeted at students in USA, UK and Germany, the audio-visual facility is expected to cost about Rs 1 crore. Successful students will be awarded Kalapraavesika and Visarada certificates. Kuchipudi village, birthplace of the dance form, is to be made a centre for fine arts, and the course will ultimately be upgraded to the degree and PG Diploma levels,according to Yella Venkateswara Rao, Dean of the Fine Arts Department.
