
The National Dalit Front NDF comprising three Dalit political outfits, floated to counter the growing influence of the Bahujan Samaj Party BSP, will soon launch its campaign in Uttar Pradesh by holding series of rallies beginning December.
Udit Raj, the general secretary of the NDF, announced this on Tuesday. The Indian Justice Party headed by Raj is one of the constituents of the NDF. The Ram Vilas Paswan-led Lok Janshakti Party and Ram Das Athwale-led Republican Party of India are the other constituents.
Criticising Mayawati, Raj said the Front will expose her for compromising on the 8220;Bahujan Hitaya8221; principle which has been changed to 8220;Sarvajan Hitaya8221; by colluding with 8220;Manuvadi8221; forces. 8220;Mayawati is no longer working for the poor, downtrodden, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. She is enjoying the fruits of power and working for those who have oppressed of the Dalits,8221; he added.
Reiterating the Front8217;s agenda of forging unity among Dalits, backward castes and tribals in the country, Raj said it will strive to become an alternative platform for the Dalits and the other oppressed sections of the society.
The NDF will work to ensure reservation for Dalits in the private sector and set up a national development authority to ensure that funds allocated for Dalits and tribals are not used for other purposes.
Other demands of the front include setting up of a national judicial service on the lines of IAS/IPS and reservation for Dalits in it.
8220;The front will uphold the ideology of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. It will also work towards ensuring quality education for Dalits,8221; Raj said.
