Trip to dream land
AAO Sathi Sapna Dekhe, a Hindi adaptation of Tom Jones8217;s The Fantasticks, is a play that inspires to dream and live a dream when not lost in its beautiful music. This successful Broadway production was adapted by Harsh Khurana and directed by Swanand Kirkire for the last edition of Prithvi Theatre8217;s annual festival. In its second season, the play is having a month-long run across the city.

Multiplied effect
AFTER receiving loads of praises Saat Tari Ekvees 7 X 3 = 21 is back on stage on October 2. This play by Manhar Gadhia Production strings together seven monologues in Gujarati by seven eminent writers, directors and actors of Gujarati stage. It challenges seven writers to prove their creativity within 15 minutes. The seven monologues deal with subjects like surrogate motherhood, Laxman8217;s wife Urmila, a human clone, an uncommon story of a common man, frustration of a middle-class wife, Kasper Hauser and an unwritten poetry, all making for an interesting evening.

East and west
BORN in Germany, Irena Vezin travelled colorful routes in search of her individual artistic expression. Vezin combines two different cultures in her artistic work, the East and the West. With her varied career graph she has seen and experienced many different situations, all of which find their way into her current paintings. Working in countries like Canada, Spain and India, she developed and refined her receptivity for the unknown in thought, feelings and beliefs. The Fine Art Company presents8212;her latest solo is called Vortex.

The colour of music
TO celebrate International Music Day, an innovative event titled Reflections brings about a confluence of music and visual art. Organised by Pancham Nishad and Kalavishkar, the event will feature musicians Jayateerth Mevundi, Niladari Kumar and V Selvaganesh, will perform as Prithvi Soni and Ravi Mandlik will paint on stage to the music.

A vision of God
HE may have lost his hearing and speech but his vision and skill has been enhanced tenfold. Ajay Garag is one of the few practicing artists who displays the knowledge and skill of the Rajasthani miniatures. He brings is his art to Mumbai and shares with viewers his exquisite and detailed paintings that follow the old school taught by his guru Shri Sua Lal, whom he studied under at the age of five. His art has been patronised by the likes of former president Abdul Kalam and the current Pratibha Patil. Catch the exhibition or miss out on a rich visual feast.
