Body found The dead body of a 35-year-old man was found near Kurla on Tuesday morning. The police said the body was recovered from the Somaiyya medical college ground at around 8.30 a.m. The college security guard noticed the body and informed the police. The deceased wearing a white jeans trousers is medium build. The Antop Hill police have filed a case of murder and investigations are on.

Killers arrested

A woman and her minor daughter were arrested for allegedly murdering a youth. The police said Lalita Pawar, 35 and her daughter Basanti, 14, were arrested for beating to death an 18-year-old Gautam Pawar. The police said the killer duo and the deceased were neighbours and stayed at Siddarth Nagar in Dombivli West.

On May 26, Basanti asked Pawar to provide her mother with footwear. This irked Pawar who denied to comply with Basanti8217;s wishes. Getting angry with Pawar8217;s denial, both the women beat Pawar on the chest and stomach. Pawar had undergone a heart operation a few years back and one of his valve was not functioning efficiently, the police added. The blows given by the two women hit Pawar on his heart injuring him badly. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. The Vishnunagar police have arrested the two women and have filed a case of murder against them.
