Ban orders
Commissioner of Police J Mahapatra has promulgated prohibitory orders banning assembly of five or more and carrying firearms within the jurisdiction of the commissionerate with immediate effect. The prohibitory orders will remain in force upto February 5.

Stolen
One Ranjitsinh Kundansinh Ramsinghani, a resident of 118, Mahajan Society in Fatehgunj, complained to the police that his sewing machine worth Rs 1,500 was stolen from his house on Sunday night.

PASA arrest
One Abdulghani alias ghaniDhobi Mohammed Shaikh, a resident of Sardar Bhawan Mohalla near Jubilee baug was arrested under Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act and sent to Jamangar district jail on Sunday last, according to a spokesman of the Prevention of Crime Branch.

Vehicle thefts
In separate cases of vehicle theft registered by police, two-wheellers were stolen from different parts of the city on Monday. While a Sunny moped GJ-6-CC-4714 worth Rs 5,000 was stolen from outside Economics Department of the MS University, a Bajaj Chetak scooter GUS 9719 worth Rs 5,000 was stolen from house no 26 in Ashirwad Society in Makarpura locality. Investigations are on.
