Burglaries
In three cases of house-breaking, that took place in different parts of the city on Sunday, cash and ornaments worth Rs 99,500 were stolen, the police said. While two cases of burglaries were reported in Nutan Saurabh Society in the city, the third case was reported from Sattadhar Society on Waghoria Road . Modus operandi in all the cases was the same indicating that the thefts had been committed by the members of the same gang, the police added.

Case registered
The Vadodara Municipal Corporation VMC has lodged an FIR in the Panigate police station against a builder, Anil R Shah, alleging that he caused a loss of Rs 1 lakh to the civic body by taking 34 illegal water connections in Vrajdham Housing Society on Ajwa Road and Shriram Complex in Mangal Bazar, built by him. The Panigate police are investigating.

Buried alive
A 12-year-old boy Manish Keharbhai Tadvi was buried alive in Haripur village of Sankheda taluka of district on Monday. Fire birgade sources said that when the boy was digging, a big mound of sand caved in, killing him in the process. A case has been regsitered.

Vehicle stolen
An autorickshaw GJ-6-V-9806 worth Rs 40,000 was stolen from Waghodia Road crossing and a moped GJ-6-FF-3595 worth Rs 7,000 from the parking lot near Yuvraj Super Store on Old Padra Road on Sunday, the police said. The police have registered cases and are investigating.
