11-year-old dies in city
A 11-year-old boy, Ganpat Bhikha Vanjhara, died on Wednesday morning after receiving an electric shock, the Katargam police said. The boy was sitting on an embankment at Amroli, when he came in contact with a live electric wire and died on the spot. The mishap took place at about 5 am, when it was raining. The police have registered a case under section 174 of the Code of Criminal procedure.

Suicide
A 33-year-old married woman, Shanti Girdhar Gordhan, residing at Bajrang Apartments in Katargam, committed suicide by consuming an insecticide early on Wednesday morning, the police said. According to a case registered in the police station, the woman was ill for the past four years and hence ended her life. She was found dead by family members at around 9 am on Wednesday.

Two missing
Two persons, including a 13-year-old boy, are missing from the city, cases registered in the Katargam and Kapodara police stations said on Wednesday. Bharat Kastur Patel, who is missing since Monday morning, was a student of the Akhand Anand School and resided at Bahucharnagar area of Katargam. After the boy did not from school, his father lodged a complaint in the police sation on Wednesday afternoon. In another case registered at the Kapodara police station, a newly married woman Anju Vinod Waghri (20) is missing since Monday night. Her husband, a resident of Navdurga Socieety, Nana Varachha told the police that she handed over the house keys to neighbours and left with a few clothes, stating that she was going to her uncle’s house.

Harassed
A woman approached the Chowk Bazaar police on Wednesday afternoon, alleging that her husband, with whom she was married for 15 years, was torturing her and had forced her and their two children out of the house. The complainant also alleged that her husband was having an extra marital affair and hence forced them out of the house. No arrest was made until Wednesday evening and PSI G S Malvi is investigating.
