Injured in accident
The Pandesara police have registered a case of reckless driving and causing injury against an unidentified scooterist. Vaman patil, a resident of Shivajinagar area of Pandesara, in a complaint with the police stated that he was walking on the Shivajinagar-Gowalak Road when he was hit by a scooterist, who dragged him for almost 20 feet before escaping. He sustained head and body injuries. He said he could not note down the vehicle8217;s registration number.
Vehicle thefts
A Bajaj Scooter and a Sunny moped were reported stolen in separate cases of vehicle thefts registered in city police stations. One Manish Vaidya, a resident of Athwa Lines area, in a complaint with the Umra police stated his Bajaj scooter GJ 5 LL 9656 was stolen from opposite Vasant Vihar Township Office on the Magdalla Road. In the second case, a Bajaj Sunny GJ 5 J 6532 of one Prakash was reported stolen from opposite Cambay Institute Building in Shahpore.
TV stolen
A colour television set and a silver statue were stolen in a night burglary in the Varachha area of the city. Harshad Jariwala, the owner of an office at Kamal Park in Varachha told the police that burglars broke open the shutter of his office and decamped with a silver statue and a colour televison set, totally valued at Rs 26,000. A case of housebreaking by night and theft has been registered at the Varachha police station.
