
Mumbai, December 11: A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death at Santingar in Kandivli (west) on Wednesday.
The police sub-inspector at the Kandivli police station, Arjun R Rajane said the deceased, Mohan Nagarkar was found lying in a pool of blood near Bobby Shopping Centre at Santinagar with stab wounds on his stomach. Kandivli police have arrested one Ramesh D Mahdik (38) in this connection, but the motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained, he added.
Narrating the incident, Rajane said an anonymous caller informed the Kandivli police that a seriously injured person was lying by the roadside. The mobile unit of the Kandivli police rushed to the spot and found the body with the intestines spilled out. The body was sent for postmortem at Cooper hospital Vile Parle. Kandivli police have registered a case and investigations are on.
Arrested
A motor mechanic, working at BEST Backbay depot, was arrested by the Mumbai police (General branch) in connection with the Vaibhavlaxmi’ scheme — a fake money circulation racket — on Wednesday.
