Crime Beat — Infant raped in Dabri

But when he came to pick up his daughter his aunt told him that Sohan Lal had taken the baby to his house. Mohan Lal’s aunt reportedly did not hesitate in handing over the child to Sohan because the latter was known to the family.

Sohan Lal, a vegetable vendor, lives in the same locality. When the girl’s father reached Lal’s house, he found her in an injured state. He immediately took her to the doctor. A medical examination confirmed that she had been raped.

The Dabri police have registered a case of rape and have arrested Sohan Lal.

Woman burnt to death
A 27-year-old woman was burnt to death at Khayala Village in West Delhi on Sunday morning. Her charred body was reportedly recovered from the bathroom in her house. She was brought to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital where she was declared dead. Malkiyat had received 100 per cent burns. The police believe it was a suicide though further investigations are on.

Man sets himself afire
A 35-year-old man was admitted to the Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital with 100 per cent burns on Sunday. A vegetable vendor, Pravesh, had reportedly set himself afire after dousing himself with kerosene in his Vikaspuri house.

The police believe he was upset as one of his children was physically disabled. At the time of the suicide, no one was present in the house.
