CricInfo tourney from Sept 25

New Delhi, September 23: The Women’s Cricket Assoication will be hosting CricInfo 2000 from September 25 to 28 at the Jamia Millia ground here. The matches will be played among the three teams — India A, India B and India C. The WCA has shortlisted 35 probables from the just-concluded camp at Chandigarh and they have been divided in to three groups.

After the tournament, the WCA will name the Indian squad for the World Cup, starting in New Zealand from November 30. The performance of the probables in the CricInfo tournament will form basis for the selection of the squad for the World Cup. The selected India players will undergo another coaching and conditioning camp at Chennai.

The teams:

India A:Chanderkanta, Reshma Gandhi, Aarti Vaidya, Vaishali Lange, Jaya Sharma, Rupanjali Shastri, Seema Pujari, Deepa Kulkarni, Sunita Kanojia, Neelima Wagmare, Smitha Harikrishna, Swarna Lakshmi and Rupa Begam.

India B: Anjum Chopra, Gurkeep Kaur, Mithali Raj, Vanita Viola, Rakhi Mehra, Varsha Raphael, Purnima Rau, Sangita Kamath, Kalyani Umbrani, Kavita Roy, G.S. Laxmi and Rumeli Dhar.

India C: Anju Jain, Arundhati Kirkire, Hemlata Kala, Amrita Shinde, Gulshan Sharma, Mamta Krishan, Bindeswari Goel, Neetu Devid, Renu Margarete, Purnima Choudary, Umesh Kumari and Jhulan Goswami.
