AMRITSAR, MARCH 5: The Sikh Gurdwara Judicial Commission SGJC would tomorrow hear the miscellaneous application of contempt of court against Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee SGPC chief Gurcharan Singh Tohra filed by 10 executive members of the SGPC.

The application, filed in continuation of the main petition for removal of Tohra and nine other respondents, has sought immediate suspension of Tohra and former acting president of SGPC Sukhdev Singh Bhaur for violating the commission order of holding executive committee meeting on February 10.

The commission had on March 4 adjourned the hearing of application to March 6 due to absence of Tohra8217;s counsel in the court. SGJC chairman Manmohan Singh Brar has directed Tohra8217;s counsel to be present tomorrow.

Mohinder Singh Romana, counsel for 10 executive members, had yesterday requested the commission to give ex-parte interim order on their application because according to him, Tohra was deliberately evading the court proceedings. The commission is expected to take a decision on this application tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the SGJC sources today clarified that in wake of Punjab and Haryana High Court directions to the commission to not to take any final decision on pending petitions, it had not given any final decision on the petition filed by Sarup Singh Dhesi, a SGPC member, who had sought disqualification of the 10 executive members.
