Deputy Prime Minister L.K. Advani on Friday said the Congress’ efforts to counter BJP’s India Shining slogan stemmed from ‘‘frustration’’.

Advani said the NDA had never claimed, as was alleged by the Congress, that India already shone and clarified that what the alliance had said was that the country had been shining during the last six years which was not the case during the Congress’ 50-year rule. ‘‘A day will come when the nation would shine brightly,’’ Advani told an election meeting on the 28th day of his Bharat Uday Yatra.

‘‘The Congress is getting irritated as the nation has never shone so brightly like it had during the last six years under the able leadership of A.B. Vajpayee,’’ he said. —(PTI)
