AHMEDNAGAR, Oct 4: District Collector, Bijay Kumar, has said computer education was a must to keep in abreast of information. He was speaking at the inauguration of a computer training workshop for journalists organised by Ahmednagar Press Club and CMS Institute of Computers here on Saturday.

The president of the press club, Nandkumar Satpute, chaired the function. The general secretary of Akhil Bhartiya Marathi Patrakar Parishad, Prakash Bhandare, and chairman of State Accredition Committee, Manohar Kulkarni, were also present.

Bijay Kumar said, computer awareness for scribes was a must to gain access to information. Citing the example of the interview of Laloo Prasad Yadav, president of Rashtriya Janata Party, he said with computerisation of the media, transparency had been obtained.

Kulkarni and Bhandare also spoke on the occasion. The director of CMS introduced the guests. The general secretary of the press club, Sudheer Mehta, proposed a vote of thanks.
