Arsenal face an anxious wait to discover whether they will be involved in another ‘trial by video’ following a flare-up near the end of Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Manchester City. City striker Nicolas Anelka was sent off and Arsenal defender Ashley Cole shown a yellow card after the two exchanged shoves as they wrestled for the ball after Anelka had scored City’s goal in the 88th minute. Several other players charged in, notably Arsenal’s Brazilian midfielder Edu, producing a 10-man goalmouth melee.
