A day after his visit to the malnutrition-hit tribal belt of Melghat in Amravati, CM Sushilkumar Shinde had nothing new to add to his 8216;8216;all-is-well8217;8217; utterances.

With Assembly elections round the corner, the malnutrition-hit Adivasi belts of Maharashtra have again made it to the itinerary of every vote-seeking politician.

Since the news of malnutrition deaths broke afresh a month ago, political leaders have been frequent visitors to Nandurbar, Amravati, Jawhar and Mokhada.

Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray and BJP general secretary Pramod Mahajan will tour Mokhada on Friday. Later, the duo will visit Amravati and Nandurbar.

There are reports that over 1,000 tribal children had died of malnutrition, but the government insists that only 59 children died of it.
