VADODARA, Feb 18: Vadodara Chief Judicial Magistrate A G Vasa on Thursday issued notices to the five builders named in the first information report filed after the February 10 attempt on the life of a prominent city-based builder, asking them to produce themselves before the court as well as to show cause why summons should not be issued against them under Section 174 of the Indian Penal Code. The section applies for not complying with summons under the Criminal Procedure Code.

The notices follow an application before the court by the Detection of Crime Branch police seeking appropriate directive to those named in the FIR. The police alleged that they had not responded to the summons issued to them under Section 160 of the CrPC.

The CJM has issued notices to Rohit N Shah, resident of the Goverdhanji Haveli area, Himanshu Desai, resident of Dandia Bazar, Arvind D Jani, resident of Vishwas Colony, Alkapuri, Kirtikant T Soni, resident of Jayanand Society, Alkapuri and Jayesh Dave, resident of Ellora Park.
