Comebacks were the order of the day, as both Malaysia and China came from behind to draw their matches in the seventh BSNL Asia Cup hockey here today.

China’s 3-3 draw against Korea kept their hopes of making it to the last four alive, while Malaysia ensured their berth in the semi-finals with a 3-3 draw with Pakistan.

Pakistan made their intentions clear from the start of the match and Shakeel Abbasi’s brace gave them a 2-0 lead. Akhar Ali consolidated on that in the 33rd minute to make it 3-0. However, Malaysia came back with strongly to claw back. And some umpiring decisions also helped their cause. T Ahamad Tajuddin reduced the margin with a brace (43rd and 57th minutes).
